Precision Cutting Services
At The Metal Shop, we provide precision cutting solutions for a wide range of materials, including steel, aluminum, brass, and copper. Our advanced equipment allows us to meet exact customer specifications, whether the requirement is for a straight cut, intricate profile, or complex geometry.
Equipment and Capability
Our facility is equipped with multiple cutting technologies to handle diverse project requirements:
Fiber Laser – high-speed, high-precision cutting with exceptional edge quality on metals.
Tube Laser – specialized for cutting round, square, and structural tubing with tight tolerances.
Waterjet – versatile cutting for metals, composites, plastics, and materials sensitive to heat.
Saws – efficient processing for straight cuts and high-volume bar or tube stock.
This range of equipment enables us to process both small-batch prototypes and large-scale production runs with consistent quality.
Why Choose These Services?
Material Versatility: Capable of processing ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as non-metallic materials with waterjet.
Accuracy: State-of-the-art systems deliver precision parts ready for downstream fabrication.
Efficiency: Rapid turnaround times supported by automation and optimized workflows.
Scalability: Proven track record with both one-off projects and high-volume production.
Cost-Effectiveness: Competitive pricing without sacrificing quality or performance.
By combining fiber laser, tube laser, waterjet, and saw cutting technologies, The Metal Shop ensures customers receive parts that are accurate, repeatable, and production-ready.
GLOSSARY
Mild Steel, Tool Steel, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, Brass, Copper materials. Table size is 60″x 120″, up to 1″ mild steel and ¾” alum plate can be cut. The laser is attached to an Eight Shelf Automation Tower for continuous production without stopping for new material change over.
Equipment
6000 kw Fiber Laser, 4000Kw C02 Laser
Materials
Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Copper, Brass, Acrylic, Tool Steel, Titanium, Spring Steel
Sheet Size
60"x120" Tables — Actual sheet processing sizes need to be slightly less than size size to account for the borders needed
Thickness Range
- Steel .010” – 1”
- Alum .020” – .750”
- Stainless .010” – 1”
- Brass/Copper .020”- 375”
- Acrylic – up to .250”
- Special Materials – up to .375”
Tolerances
The fiber can hold .002” all dependent on feature to be cut and material thickness. There is no such thing as +/- 0 on a laser. | If you need closer tolerance then we can put on our CNC mills for secondary process. |
Automation
TMS has an 8 shelf automation tower which allows us to cut continuously without stopping to change material. | If you have a large number of sheets this allows our lead times to be quicker. |
Required File Formats
STEP, DXF, Parasolid, DWG | We do require a PDF drawing of the part or assembly with Dimensions. This insures the 3D file matches the 2D dimensions. | If you have critical dimensions or requirements, please highlight them in drawing. | Help us Help you by providing all details upfront, this insures success and we are good but not mind readers. |
Nesting
We use a program that nests the parts for our machines to get best material usage and fastest cut times.
Post Process Cutting
- Press Brake Forming/ Up to12’ and .75” thickness.
- Welding, TIG, MIG, Laser
- CNC Machining, Milling
- Assembly
- Edge finishing , deburring, Sanding
- PEM Inserts, weld nuts
- Hole reaming
- Tap holes
- Countersinking
Surface Etching
Fiber can etch numbers and logos. Works best on Stainless, can be done on steel and alum to differing degrees.
