ALUMINUM
Aluminum is the primary metal we work with at The Metal Shop. We weld, roll, form, and cut all grades of aluminum for many kinds of jobs—from fabricating structures and cutting parts from sheet to forming and rolling into shapes.
We are experts with aluminum, as roughly 90% of our work is aluminum. Aluminum TIG welding is our primary welding process. All welded assemblies start with parts cut on our laser, waterjet, or turret press. This keeps the fabrication process moving quickly and efficiently.
When formed parts are needed, we use our press brakes to complete the job. Our 3D bending and layout software models and sequences the proper bends so we make the most efficient use of material and time.
We also have the ability to do complex machining. Used in conjunction with our laser or waterjet, we can cut large rough blanks and finish-machine in house. This is cost-effective and convenient for customers because there’s no need to send parts out for secondary machining.
Cutting & Part Prep
All parts that are welded use parts cut on either our laser, waterjet, or turret press. Starting with precision-cut blanks speeds up fit-up and keeps fabrication efficient.
Welding & Forming
Aluminum TIG welding is our primary process, supported by press brake forming when parts require bends. Our 3D bending/layout software sequences bends to maximize material yield and reduce time.
Machining & Turnkey
We handle complex machining in house. Paired with laser/waterjet cutting, we rough-cut large profiles and finish-machine to spec—lowering cost and eliminating the need for outside vendors.

The Metal Shop was started in 2002 by Duane Swift. After spending 30 years in the Navy and working for another exhibit company, the opportunity to start a small business was offered.
