Waterjet Cutting
At The Metal Shop, our Mitsubishi Suprema WaterJet delivers unmatched precision and versatility in cutting a wide variety of materials. Using a high-pressure abrasive water stream, we can cut metals and non-metals alike without introducing heat, ensuring material properties remain unchanged.
Equipment and Capability
Cutting Range: Realistically up to 4″–6″ thick metal with minimal taper.
Tolerance: Holds between ±0.0005″–0.0008″, depending on material and speed.
Materials: Metals, alloys, glass, plastic, stone, tile, wood, cardboard, foil, and more.
Taper Control Head: Enhances consistency and reduces taper for high-accuracy results.
Advantages of Waterjet Cutting
Material Versatility: Cuts virtually any 2D shape in metals and non-metals.
No Heat-Affected Zone: Maintains molecular integrity of materials.
High Precision: Ideal for projects where tight tolerances are critical.
Flexibility: Adjustable cutting speeds balance productivity with precision.
Industry Applications: Effective across aerospace, automotive, architectural, and specialty fabrication sectors.
Waterjet cutting is one of the most precise, non-thermal fabrication processes available, offering a unique combination of accuracy, material flexibility, and structural integrity.
