MIG Welding for Production
At The Metal Shop, MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding plays a central role in our production fabrication capabilities. Known for its versatility, MIG can be applied across a wide range of materials including aluminum, stainless steel, nickel alloys, and carbon steels of varying thicknesses. This makes it an ideal process for high-volume manufacturing and commercial fabrication environments.
Equipment And Capability
Our facility is equipped with:
Miller Alumapower 350 MPa – optimized for aluminum welding.
Miller Millermatic 350P and Millermatic 250 – for steel welding applications.
Fronius CMT Welders – advanced units that employ the Cold Metal Transfer (CMT) process, producing welds with a TIG-like appearance while maintaining the speed and efficiency of MIG.
Why Mig Welding
Versatility: Effective across a broad spectrum of metals and alloys.
Speed and Productivity: Well-suited for repetitive, high-throughput applications.
Strong Aesthetics with CMT: CMT technology delivers clean, precise welds with less heat input and reduced distortion.
Material Range: From thin aluminum to structural steel, MIG adapts to diverse production needs.
By combining proven Miller systems with high-end Fronius CMT technology, we deliver MIG welds that meet the efficiency demands of production while achieving aesthetic quality traditionally associated with TIG welding.

The Metal Shop was started in 2002 by Duane Swift. After spending 30 years in the Navy and working for another exhibit company, the opportunity to start a small business was offered.
