3D Printing
3D printing is an additive manufacturing process that builds parts layer by layer from digital models. At TMS, we use it to rapidly produce custom components, jigs, and fixtures that support our production workflows. This technology enables quick prototyping, reduces lead times, and allows us to create complex geometries that are difficult or impossible to machine conventionally. Its flexibility helps us streamline setup for recurring jobs and improve overall manufacturing efficiency.
Capabilities
- Rapid prototyping of new part designs
Creation of custom jigs and fixtures for recurring builds
Ability to produce complex geometries not possible with traditional machining
Reduced lead times and material waste compared to conventional methods
Support for low-volume production runs or one-off parts

The Metal Shop was started in 2002 by Duane Swift. After spending 30 years in the Navy and working for another exhibit company, the opportunity to start a small business was offered.
