Pleasant Prairie,WI, 9/28/17 - The Metal Shop LLC, a growing metal fab shop in South Eastern WI, has added more capacity to its tube bending capabilities. The company has installed a new ITEC Starbend 1.5” tube bender. The company has been working with a client for a few years helping get their product designed and to market. Recently the clients business has seen a large increase in orders and this put pressure on The Metal Shop to be able to keep up with demand. The VP of Operations, Todd Swift, researched a few companies, but ultimately chose to work with ITEC’s Brian Julien. The company was researched and found to have a great customer centered attitude. 

The machine was ordered an custom built be able to accept tooling from an older machine. Upon arrival, the machine was set through it’s paces and TMS is pleased so see the time study was not only met but exceeded. A custom extrusion, with 8 bends took 1:33 on the old Hydraulic bender, the new Starbend reduced the time to :47; which was :12 sec faster than they thought it would be. The new bender has allowed TMS to keep up with the increased demand and also, when put to the gauntlet of retail pricing pressures by the client, has been able to meet or exceed the request.
