Mitsubishi Suprema Waterjet
Waterjet cutting isn't the right process for every job. We can help you decide if it is the most effective means or maybe our laser, mills or punches would be more efficient. In those areas where it is the proper choice, you can't find a more versatile cutting option.
The Metal Shop uses a Mitsubishi Suprema Waterjet with Mitsubishi controls. We think the fact that the control is not some re-hashed windows computer makes it a much more reliable and accurate machine. Our table is 7'x13' which can handle a 5'x12' sheet. The machine is equipped with a Mitsubishi Intelligent Taper Control control head. Why this is important is that we can program a part to run at normal speed and still maintain our accuracy and limit taper. On machines without Intelligent Taper Control, you control taper by reducing the speed which means it takes longer to cut the part and increases your cost.

We specialize in aluminum and steel fabrication, however our abilities to work with a variety of mediums allows us to meet the growing demands of today’s industry. From aluminum to acrylic, and steel to stone, we have the tools to do the job.
Materials commonly cut with a waterjet include rubber, foam, plastics, composites, stone, tile, metals, food, paper and much more. Materials that cannot be cut with a waterjet are tempered glass, diamonds and certain ceramics.
Waterjet cuts are not typically limited by the thickness of the material, and are capable of cutting materials over eighteen inches (45 cm) thick.
Traditional abrasive waterjet cutting is highly flexible but lacks the accuracy needed by high-precision manufacturers. Waterjet powered by Mitsubishi Electric incorporates the precision of Mitsubishi controls and servo system , opening the door for exciting new efficiencies and expanded material capabilities sure to enhance your bottom line. Waterjet Powered by Mitsubishi Electric is the most accurate, productive and reliable waterjet machine on the market.
Waterjet cutting technology utilizes high pressure water with an abrasive substance to create a cutting tool that travels at three times the speed of sound. With this tool, virtually any material can be cut with or without an abrasive in some cases. The Mitsubishi control, combined with a CAD-CAM generated CNC code, allows for simple or complex shapes to be cut. Speed and accuracy are easy to achieve with the Waterjet Intelligent Taper Control System.
Waterjet cuts virtually any material, including aluminum, ceramic, composites, alloys, stainless steel and other highly reflective materials, stone, titanium, tool steel, plastic, rubber, foam, food and more.
