Shop was proud to be a part of the construction of the ICEhouse used at The World Economic Forum in Jan 2016 in Davos Switzerland. We used our Mazak Tube laser to cut each and every structural component of the building. We also use our press brakes to form the ends and even made the custom washers for the bolts. We packaged them into 3 crates and sent them off to the client in Switzerland. From here it was a huge success with many top diplomats and CEO’s of major companies touring the building. Very exciting for us to be a part of such an important project.
The upgrades keep moving ahead at TMS. We have just installed a brand new DMG Mori Vertical Milling Machine, the NVX5100. The new 2016 machine will allow us to speed up our milling processes and become more efficient in our work. The modern styling of the machine matches the DMG Mori NLX2500/700 we installed last spring. We think the look of the machine helps represent our company as we try to be, up to date and clean.
The Metal Shop was recently tasked with laser cutting this wonderful and innovative structure for McDonough Architects. The building is part of an exposition being held in Davos, Switzerland, at The World Economic Forum. We were tasked with laser cutting and forming all the aluminum used in the structure. Special recognition goes out to Michael Cousins Jr., our fantastic leader in the laser department. When others saiid "you can't cut 5/16" thick aluminum angle," Michael not only figured it out, but even cut it on shop air! That is Supreme Skill. Great work.
TMS did the laser cutting for our friends at The Roadster Shop on this sick SEMA Truck. All the close up shots of the front end control arms are all parts from TMS laser. Awesome truck for sure. From the show floor to the dunes, not may companies are going to make a vehicle this sturdy. Great work, proud of our guys for the work we did to bring it to life in a very short time frame.
